Where does the money go?
83% of all funds raised are spent directly on our mission of saving lives and ending breast cancer forever. 75% of net income remains in the community, with almost $3 million in local grants for breast health education and breast cancer screening having been awarded by the Texarkana Affiliate since 1999. 25% of funds support groundbreaking breast cancer research around the world through the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Grants Program.

When and Where is the 2011 Komen Texarkana Race for the Cure®?
Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana, Arkansas.  The starting line is at E. 50th and Fairgrounds Drive.  Click here for a map of the Race course.  Check back later for updated information on the Race Day schedule. 

When will I be able to register?
The start date for registration will be mid August.  Please check back later for updated registration information for the 2011 Race for the Cure.
 

Where do I turn in my individual participant forms and/or donations?
By Mail
Mail donations or individual participant forms with registration fee to: Komen Texarkana Race for the Cure®, Dept. 09-015, P.O. Box 9600, Texarkana, TX 75505-9600. Please check back later for the postmark deadline for 2011.

In Person

How far is a 5K? 
A 5K is around 3.1 miles. 

What happens if it rains on Race Day?
This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event,
there will be no refunds and your entry fee will be used as a donation.
 

Are registration fees tax deductible?
The registration fee is not tax deductible. The government tells us the registration fee is the cost of receiving goods and services for the event (i.e. t-shirt, sponsor giveaways, water, etc...) and cannot be claimed on your taxes. Any donation you make above the registration amount or any donation made without registering for the Race is tax deductible.

Where do I park on Race day?
Parking will be available in the main parking area of the Four States Fairgrounds and multiple other locations.  Free shuttle service to the front gate will be available. Please check back later for updated parking information.

May I use my stroller? 
Strollers are welcomed for use at the Family Fun Stroll but are not permitted for use during any competitive races.  For the safety of all participants, rollerblades and pets are discouraged from participating in this event. Thank you for your cooperation.
